Comedy Open Mic Evening Comics’ Info
Jeeya believes if you are fat once(by fat she means FAAAAT) you are fat forever, mentally you never become thin even after losing all the weight. An event manager turned stand-up comedian, improviser and actor. she has made entertainment her new life’s mission since nothing else is going for her!
NAVIN NORONHA
Navin Norohna is an amply likable guy who tries very hard to be a badass. To live by his motto of ‘Live Fast, Die Poor’, Navin has taken up writing as a profession. He also does stand-up because it fits so well into the underpaid artist routine. He is pretty good at it though, so if you find yourself cracking up, it may not be entirely incidental. Being a Bombay boy, Navin’s material covers wide ground from liberalism and pigeons to evil bosses and Jesus. And did we mention that he is an engineer by qualification? Well, who isn’t?
VAIBHAV SETHIA
Vaibhav was cast out by the Marwari community after he decided to quit his high paying job, to do comedy. He admits he misses it. For the food. The people, not so much. Most of his jokes are renderings of what he calls ”bookmark moments” from his life. That includes 5 years of architecture in an IIT, the only girl he managed to talk to, and the 7 jobs he quit in the last two years.
ABHISHEK UPMANYU
Abhishek Upmanyu is stand-up comedian, writer and haiku enthusiast. He looks and sounds like a regulation Delhi boy, except that he is harmless. He does kill though, mostly on stage, and has done so at the biggest of stages on the stand up circuit. Upmanyu covers seemingly everyday topics with insightful and hilarious effects. With his Shatabdi-fast delivery and writing prowess, rap is an alternate career option for Abhishek but he refuses on principal. Having moved to Mumbai recently for ‘better prospects’ that may or may not materialize but is bound to make for some crazy material.
VIKRAM PODDAR
Vikram is an MBA from FMS Delhi and former investment banker. Traumatized by endless excel sheet he turned to comedy for solace. Under his brand bored room comedy, he is India’s first corporate humorist from corporate stand-up comedy to conducting workshops that use humor to drop inhibitions, build emotional connections and trust between teams. His client list includes Vodafone, DHL, Aditya Birla Group, Maersk, SBICAP, Diageo/United Spirits, ICICI, etc. He is also the corporate content and business development specialist for the company by India’s top comedian Vir Das (Weirdass) where he works on humorous content for brands like video campaigns, scripts and torture ceremonies for managers.
SANA KHAN BANATWALLA
Winner of COME #1, A self confessed introvert, Sana Khan, has a pathological fear of public speaking and donuts. She is an unemployed writer and will work for food and Zara discount coupons. Fairly new to the Mumbai comedy scene, she has floored a total of three people with her amazing comedic skills. She is extremely uncomfortable writing about herself in third person
